Meet Your TETNA Leaders

At the TETNA Annual Meeting March 8, the Board voted to elect directors for 2010. Several board members were elected for an additional term, one experienced member returned after a year off, and two new members joined.In 2010, the Board plans to continue popular events, like Halloween Trick-or-Treat and the TGIT adult socials. The Board will also introduce new activities to bring neighbors together. Look for exciting announcements coming soon.“We are trying to add activities or ‘clubs’ that will get people in the neighborhood together,” said Hunt-Frank. “I may not be an auto aficionado, but if there are two people out there who are, I would love to get them together!  That is the idea – people with like interests being able to find each other.”

She coordinated the Family Fun Day for four years and is serving her third term as Board President. She likes East Towne for its friendliness; walkable streets and sense of community.Jason Odrzywolski, Vice PresidentJason has lived in East Towne for five years. His skills in information gathering, data analysis and budgeting have been a valuable addition to the TETNA board; he is now serving his third term on the board and second year as Vice President. Jason’s favorite things about East Towne include the variety of services and businesses available within walking distance, the kid-friendly community and the quality police force.Felicia Hobert, Secretary Felicia has lived in Wauwatosa for two years and “love(s) the eclectic shops on North Avenue and the beautiful trees.” This is her first term on the board.Barb Blaney, Treasurer2300 Lefeber AvenueBarb has lived in East Towne for 15 years and has served as TETNA Treasurer for more than 2 years. She is very active in the community, including a current role as the Chairperson and Treasurer of the Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew 31. Her favorite thing about East Towne is the “sense of community and its many wonderful businesses and services within walking distance.”BOARD MEMBERSTiger Beyer2500 block of North 66th StreetTiger has served on the TETNA board for three years and is the TGIT Adult Social Coordinator. His favorite thing about living in East Towne is “everything! I love living in Tosa East Towne.” Kimberly Jahnke Cole2500 block of North 62nd StreetKimberly is new to the TETNA board, and to East Towne. Kimberly’s favorite thing about living in East Towne is the balance between urban convenience and suburban comforts. “I get to have a driveway and a yard, without sacrificing proximity to restaurants and shops.”Ruth Heup2300 block of 62nd St.Ruth has lived in the same East Towne home for 51 years. This is her second term on the TETNA board, though she has served as the neighborhood senior representative for five years. Her favorite thing about East Towne is the friendly people, young and older. “All the wonderful people I have met while my kids were growing up. Some I still stay in contact with.”Bobby Pantuso2400 block of North 67th StreetBobby grew up in Wauwatosa and moved back after his oldest son was born in 2002. He is serving his second term on the TETNA board and coordinates the Clean and Green event. Bobby is running for Alderman to represent the 5th district in Wauwatosa; he also serves on the boards of the North Avenue Neighborhood Alliance and the Village Business Improvement District. His favorite thing about East Towne is “the neighbors and the friendliness. Most afternoons I can be found outside talking to the neighbors and watching the kids play. I also love that there is an outstanding selection of restaurants within walking distance and, for entertainment, we have our own park, can roller skate at Pius, or catch a flick and a beer at Rosebud.” Julie Terwelp2300 block of North 70th StreetJulie has served two years on the TETNA board and has lived in East Towne for 13 years. She puts her graphic design and communications skills to work as editor of the TETNA newsletter and, more recently, the neighborhood social media accounts. Her favorite thing about East Towne is that “it's a walkable community, which I believe fosters another of my favorite things about TETNA – its community spirit.”
