Community meeting set on future of Rosebud theater

Some East Tosa neighbors are gauging community interest in a new model for reopening Rosebud Cinema on North Avenue, which has been closed since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 due to several factors.

Its absence is felt by many.

A meeting is being organized at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, to explore the idea of reopening the theater and operating it as a community-led nonprofit. During this meeting, we'll learn about the current state of the Rosebud (including barriers to reopening and opportunities for the future), reimagine how the space could be used and gauge if there's enough interest within the community to advance this idea.

The meeting will be held at Rosebud, 6823 W. North Ave. If you are interested in attending or want more information, please complete this short form or email Dave Celata at celata@gmail.com.
