East Towne Flood Damage: 211 Resource for FEMA

Milwaukee County residents should call 2-1-1 or fill out a Flood Damage Report from the 2-1-1 @ Impact website. All information obtained is being used to determine a damage assessment for Milwaukee County. This information is shared with FEMA.FEMA visited the East Towne neighborhood on July 29 and were provided very few flood damaged addresses and were unaware of the impact the flood had on our residents. Julie Terwelp, Tosa East Towne Neighborhood Association board member, provided FEMA officials the most recent list of owners collected from the East Towne Flood Damage database.East Towne resident Meg Miller was on the FEMA list because she knew to call 2-1-1. She spoke with a FEMA representative who explained the importance of having EVERYONE who has ANY AMOUNT of water or sewage call in to the city when they experience it — regardless of the amount. In addition, the FEMA representative noted that having a database with this type of information is crucial.The East Towne list will also be provided to the city of Wauwatosa Public Works department, Mayor Jill Didier, 5th District Aldermen Bobby Pantuso and Michael Walsh.
