You have a voice in shaping East Towne’s future. Now is the time to speak up. Tens of thousands of dollars have been spent to develop a strategic plan for North Avenue, but questions and decisions remain.

The Blockbuster store is out on 61st Street and North Avenue, but an O’Reilly Auto Parts store is ready to move in. Does O’Reilly get your thumbs up or your thumbs down? Chili Charity Run

70th and North Avenue in East Tosa

Last summer more than sixty runners and walkers participated in the first ever Tosa East Towne Charity Fun Run/Walk. By teaming up with the North Avenue Neighborhood Alliance, this summer the charity run is even bigger and spicier as the “Chili Charity Run” debuts the morning of East Tosa’s popular Chili’n on the Avenue event. Net proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Eastern Wisconsin, Inc.

Runner and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in the 3-mile route as it winds through the Tosa East Towne neighborhood. View a map of the route or download a PDF.

The registration deadline is July 9th and the fee is $18 per person or $60 for families of four or more. You may complete an online registration or print and complete a paper registration form (2011 Chili Charity Run Registration). The fee is $20 the day of the event and registration will be available at the Run Registration Tent on North Avenue between 69th-70th and  Note, t-shirt availability can not be guaranteed for day-of registration.

Once registered you may pick up your packets at U-Turn Apparel, 6905 W. North Avenue, on July 21 and 22.

Important North Avenue Planning Meetings

Hi East Tosa neighbors and businesses,

As many of you know, we have been working for two years on securing the grant for and undergoing the process of developing a strategic plan for North Avenue in East Tosa. The North Avenue Neighborhood Alliance invites and encourages you to attend one or all of these meetings to hear the presentation and provide your support. It will be put before the Council for adoption and our support is necessary for this to move forward.

Why should you care?

  • impact on quality of life
  • opportunity to sustain and grow desirability to live in our neighborhoods
  • create demand for housing and commercial real estate (drives sales and property values)
  • protect our investments

Bethany-Calvary's Second Annual Neighborhood Share Fair

Bethany-Calvary Family Church (a United Methodist Church) is hosting its’ FREE SECOND ANNUAL “NEIGHBORHOOD” SHARE FAIR at 7265 West Center Street, Saturday, July 31, 11AM-3PM together with representatives from a host of Community agencies.

The event addresses our “neighbor’s” needs re: job recruitment, resume’ services, foreclosure prevention, mortgage information, food/meal programs, Goodwill Industries, fire prevention, college recruitment/admission opportunities, Community Advocates, drug and alcohol help, family and senior health care and other issues, Arthritis Foundation, recycled clothing outlets, choosing the right childcare facility, car seat safety, dietician services and many more professional service/advice providers.


You are invited along with your families/friends to be guests at this COMMUNITY event that has formed a bridge between Wauwatosa and Milwaukee-area “neighbors”.
