Neighbors encouraged to get involved by joining TETNA’s board

It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as your Tosa East Towne Neighborhood Association board president the past three years, and I have been encouraged recently by the level of interest among neighbors in volunteering their time to help make our neighborhood a better place.

Alderman Joel Tilleson gives an update on city news for Tosa East Towne residents at TETNA’s 2019 Annual Meeting, held at Tosa Bowl & Bun.

Our Annual Meeting is a great time to think about getting more involved, including on our board. Any TETNA member can serve, and this year I will be looking to hand off my role to a new TETNA president.

If you are interested in that or any of our other officer roles, please email us at info@tosaeasttowne.org for more information.

There are plenty of other reasons to join us for our Annual Meeting, which will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Tosa Bowl & Bun, 7212 W. North Ave. The agenda will include appearances by our council members and Wauwatosa police, and the presentation of our Volunteer of the Year Award and a $750 check to this year’s college scholarship recipient. Plus food and good conversation.

It’s also a great way to spend time getting to know your neighbors. We hope to see you there.

Come to a TETNA meeting to learn more about your neighborhood association

Alderman Joel Tilleson gives an update on city news for Tosa East Towne residents at TETNA’s 2019 Annual Meeting, held at Tosa Bowl & Bun.

Tosa East Towne Neighborhood Association seeks to provide a welcoming and nurturing environment, and to maintain the quality of live and a sense of community through shared interest and neighborhood interaction.

We serve all residents, and any resident is invited to become a member, volunteer at our events and serve on our board. Our annual meeting is held in April, typically at one of the establishments on North Avenue.

Monthly meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of most months at Center Street Park pavilion. We sometimes take a month off if the agenda is light, so check this page or our Facebook page to confirm. The next monthly meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14.

The neighborhood is primarily bounded by 60th St. on the east, Wauwatosa Ave. to the west, North Avenue to the south and Center Street to the north, with a few additional blocks north of Center, from Lefeber to 75th. Email us at info@tosaeasttowne.org if you have any questions.

The annual meeting also is a time for the TETNA board to present our annual budget, and we will electing a new slate of officers and board members. Any TETNA member is welcome to join the board, which requires attending our monthly meeting and helping with our neighborhood events as you are able.
